I recently took a workshop with Chantal V. Rivers on how to write fiction using the Tarot as a guide. I have to tell you, it was AMAZING! I highly recommend you check out her site and instagram (information at the bottom of this post.
There are several spreads used when developing your story that Chantal created. Thankfully she has given me permission to share on of them with you. The first spread is creating your world:

I used the Ellis Deck Tarot when going through this exercise. Using the imagery of the cards as well as the meanings I was able to construct a pretty cool story! Let me share with you my world!

Plot Point: 9 of Pentacles - Picture a place where you have everything you could ever need. When you want something it's yours. Abundance is everywhere yet you still want more.
Character 1: Ace of Pentacles - The newbie warrior. Full of potential, excitement, and maybe a little naive. But he's motivated to learn all he can in order to achieve the goals (This is learned in the next spread!).
Character 2: 9 of Rod (Wands): This is the seasoned warrior. he's been through so many journeys and wars. He is meant to be the mentor to the newbie, but he isn't happy about it.
Comfort Level: 4 of Rods (Wands) reversed - Everyone on this world lives extremely comfortably, however it comes at a cost.
Land: Queen of Cups - The world our characters live in is the Queendom under water. The Queen is very compassionate and beloved by all.
Living: 8 of Rods (Wands) - The people of the underwater Queendom are special and Magical. While, yes, they live under water, they have powers to harness fire. Fire gives them everything they need, but they have to journey to get it.
Atmosphere: 3 of Rods (Wands) - This world is expansive! The warriors are always on guard to fight against those that try to steal their special fire powers.
Guys, this is just the beginning! I will share more later, but you'll need to join Chantals workshop to see the other spreads! I promise, you wont regret it! I got so much out of this workshop and it has sparked inspiration within me to continue this story.
Let me know if you want to hear more of my story!
